School Support Services brings schools, parents and the command together in meeting the educational needs of the military child and serves as a point of contact for all who desire assistance.

IN & OUT PROCESSING
In-Processing:
Soldiers with school age children are briefed on School Support Services (SSS) as part of their in-processing with the Fort Polk Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS).
Soldiers with school age children/youth will in-process through CYSS School Support Services for an explanation of educational options, services provided by the School Liaison Officer (SLO), as well as other school related services.
Out-Processing:
Soldiers with school age children will out-process through School Support Services for an explanation of services available to east school/educational transition and School Liaison Officer contact information for the gaining installation.
Soldiers withdrawing children from local schools on Fort Polk and in the greater Fort Polk area (Vernon and Beauregard Parishes) must provide the School Support Services office with a completed withdrawal from for each child. Withdrawal forms are included with clearing papers or at the School Support Services office. Proper withdrawal ensures that school accounts are cleared, informs the current school to prepare the child's cumulative record, and ensures that the receiving school can begin new enrollment.
SCHOOL LIAISON OFFICERS work in partnership with local schools to enhance the education experience for our military youth.
